We are getting married at the church we go to! For folks who have been historically excluded from spaces like this, we wanted to provide a background, invitation, and welcome. Our church is affirming, which means LGBTQ+ folks are welcome and acknowledged as they are fully. Queer folks are included in every level of our church’s leadership and the belief of the church is that you are made perfectly whoever you are!

It will be onsite! Please bring layers, as it will be outside. We will do our best to plan for the weather, keep your fingers crossed with us as we are hoping for a clear day in October!

The dress code suggestion is cocktail attire! We’d love to dress up, take pictures, and have a great time dancing in fancy clothes with everyone. Cocktail attire has a couple options according to the internet: folks are welcome to wear a suit and tie, a cocktail dress (maxi or midi length), jumpsuits, pant suits, etc. with layers recommended for weather. This list is not exhaustive! Anything you find online for cocktail attire will work great. Our bottom line is we want our guests to be comfortable in their clothes and expression.

We will start the ceremony at 4:15, doors will open at 3:40 and please arrive by 4:00 as noted on the invitation. The party will wrap up at 10 pm, folks are welcome to keep it going (there are some rowdy bars across the street!) but Steven and Claire will probably head home to rest after such a fun day. Please travel safe whatever your plans are!

Our dinner options will include vegan and gluten free options. While we will have an open bar (woot woot!) there will be a signature mocktail as well for anyone skipping, driving, or just slowing down at the end of the night. If you have additional food restrictions or allergies, please let us know during your RSVP. If you want to double confirm, please contact Steven as he’s the food guy!

Our wedding color will be light blue! It shouldn’t get too loud but if you are sensitive to noise, Claire loves and recommends Loop earplugs for casual and party use! There will be fun polaroid pictures to be taken! Please ask us if you have more questions!
